An early morning contention at a midtown McDonald's seems to have started a fatal shooting close Penn Station, powers said Monday.
It started around 6 a.m. close 35th Street and Eighth Avenue, a piece north of Penn Station, police said.
A gathering of individuals were drinking espresso inside a McDonald's eatery when a man came in and talked quickly with them, Chief Robert Boyce said.
Due to how short their discussion was, agents don't trust the shooter knew the casualties, Boyce said.
Before long, the gathering left the eatery and went into the metro - of their own volition - and that is when shots rang out, Boyce said.
The shooter took after the gathering into the metro station that administrations the A, C and E lines and an aggregate of four rounds were shot from what gives off an impression of being a 9 mm weapon, he said.
No cameras were observing the bit of the tram station where the shooting happened, Boyce said.One casualty - who has not been distinguished yet - was shot in the head and maintained dead at the scene, police said. A second man was shot once at the neck or to the stomach, as per powers. A third casualty was shot in the leg, police said.
Witness Ashton Carter said he saw the unnerving scene develop.

Cops said the shooter may have gotten away in an auto that maybe, refering to a 911 guest who reported seeing a conceivable escape car. The shooter is depicted as a pudgy male wearing a dark hoodie, police said.
A few paths close to the scene are shut while the examination proceeds. Travel in the territory is not influenced.
